"From North Carolina to the Stars" - February 2007

Cathy is from Morgantown, West Virginia and has been a North Carolina resident since July, 2005. Her major influences include Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Marcel Duchamp and Salvador Dali.

Cathy obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Printmaking) from West Virginia University in 1986, a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from East Carolina University in 1989 and a Masters of Fine Arts (Painting) from Bowling Green State University in 1992.

"From North Carolina to the Stars" is Cathy's artistic debut in Raleigh.

The concept was to create a thematic work for Artsplosure's "Oscar Night" event to spotlight connections between North Carolina and Tinseltown.

Cathy enjoys constructing relief sculptures, hanging sculptures as well as mixed media works on paper.
